knoxville-caner-relay-2020

The 7th Annual Knoxville Cancer Relay is two weeks away. The run will take place throughout the city of Knoxville on October 8th and 9th. A minimum of two runners per hour will run a five-mile loop around the city from 5:00 p.m. Thursday until 5:00 p.m. Friday. Organizer Steve Linsley encourages everyone to participate, and explains what to expect.

“Just come run with us. It’s pretty neat to see everybody. If you want to see a really good sight, come at 3:00 a.m. and see the cross country kids. They train in pods this year because of Covid, so they’ll be encouraged to run in pods. That’s a lot of fun, seeing high school kids at three in the morning. We also have memory and honor signs that you can buy, we’ll have a whole bunch of those available on our website and Facebook page.”

This is a fundraiser in conjunction with the Coaches vs. Cancer event in January 2021. T-shirts are available for purchase through Sunday. A complete interview with organizers Steve Linsley and Katie Truetken can be heard on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
