The latest update from the City of Indianola shows no new cases of the COVID-19 virus within city limits or the Indianola Fire District, and has been affected by 290 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic. Since September 1st, Indianola and the surrounding fire district has seen a growth of 45 cases, after seeing a growth of 76 cases in August.
The Iowa Department of Public Health shows Warren County with a slight growth of cases since the September 21st update, with 16 new cases for 946 overall. Active cases have fluctuated over the past several months, seeing a significant growth in July before a drop in August, then spiking to the highest number of active cases earlier in September with 296. Active cases in Warren County currently total 247, a drop of 26 since the September 21st update, and Warren County has six deaths.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that might indicate schools should move to remote learning. As of Thursday, Marion County is at 11.5%, while Warren County is at 2.8%. There are 13 counties currently over the threshold.
