The #1 team in Class 2A remained undefeated as PCM rolled to a 69-0 Homecoming win over Centerville Friday evening in Monroe, as aired on KRLS3. The Mustangs asserted their will from the start, as Andrew Mitchell recorded a pick six on the first play from scrimmage. Aiden Anderson, Auggie Stock, Jacob Van Winkle and Colby Tool all added touchdowns in the first quarter. A safety in the quarter concluded the scoring, making it 36-0 after one.
The game was paused for several minutes in the quarter, as junior running back Aiden Anderson went down with a leg injury, and was stretchered off the field. PCM rallied and responded, increasing the lead to 50-0 at halftime.
The PCM reserves played the entirety of the second half, with touchdowns from Jake Eslinger and Carson VandeLune. Head Coach Greg Bonnett says that his team came together after facing immense adversity.
Carson VandeLune was the only Mustang with multiple touchdowns, with one on the ground, and a punt return for a score. Nine different players scored touchdowns in the game. PCM moves to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Class 2A District 8. They’ll be back in action Friday at home against Albia.
