The Indianola volleyball team hosted Oskaloosa in Little Hawkeye Conference play on senior night Tuesday, winning 3-1. The Indians fell in set one 22-25, but would come back to win a pair of close sets in 2 and 3 25-19 and 25-23, then blowing away Osky in set four building a 15-6 lead before putting it away 25-13.
Head coach Kent Halstead tells KNIA Sports, “I thought passing was the difference tonight. We had a couple of aces, but the level you play at is determined by your passing. We got the ball to our setters, and our setters know what to do with it. So it was a fun senior night, we have seven seniors in our program and it’s just amazing to hear where they are going. None of them are planning to be an 8th grade history teacher, which is too bad for me, but they all have so many talents and they are going to go a lot of places. It was a fun night here in Indianola.”
Seven seniors were honored, and the Indians are now 6-8 on the season.
