Fresh off of sweeping their home invitational, a mid-season surge continued for the Pella Christian volleyball team in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 29-27) victory over Newton Tuesday.

It was a huge night for Avey Amelse at the service line, with 11 aces in just three sets added on to 13 kills offensively, Sarah Gritters added 12 kills and just one error (.440 hitting), Larissa Pleima tallied five aces, and four blocks came from Trinity Vos.

Pella Christian honored seniors Ellie Brouwer and Morgan Heinen before action began. The 13-7 Eagles have won five straight and take that winning streak into the tournament field at Greene County High School this Saturday.
