Today is the last scheduled day to respond to the 2020 US Census. According to the latest data from the US Census Bureau, Iowa has the fifth best response rate in the nation behind Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, and Nebraska. Indianola Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News residents can respond online or by phone, and doing so ensures the community doesn’t lose out on critical funding for roads, schools and other vital services. US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross has announced that the census operations will end on October 5th, despite a court order stating the counting should continue until October 31st.
