The Indianola City Council met in special session Tuesday evening, discussing the vacancy in the Mayor’s Office. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News city staff presented the options to the council, which included either holding a special election or appointing a mayor for the remainder of the current term. Waller also said the council gave direction to city staff to work on an application to begin an appointment process, and that process will formally begin if the council approves it at their October 5th regular meeting.
