The last day of the Indianola Eats program will take place Monday. The program uses federal dollars to purchase meals from local restaurants, which are then distributed by the Helping Hand of Warren County for those in need. Executive Director of the Helping Hand Sue Wilson tells KNIA News the Helping Hand, in cooperation with the City of Indianola, Indianola Chamber of Commerce, and Central Iowa Shelter and Services

“We will go out and compete for funds through the grant program, which will take care of meals provided by local restaurants who will be paid for their time and material through the program. So just working to support the local economy, working to support an industry that was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, while also working to help those less fortunate in our community.”

Participating restaurants are providing meals in the Dollar General parking lot (1803 W 2nd) ‪Monday evening at 5pm‬ from through Sept 28.
