The Pella Rural Fire Department has added a new vehicle to its fleet.
A new UTV has been deployed and added to the service, shortly after it was purchased last week. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom says the new fire fighting UTV will help volunteers reach difficult areas when fighting brush fires. The UTV was used in recent grass fire calls.
Van Gorkom says the purchase was made possible by donations made through the annual Pella Fire Department breakfast and other community donations and initiatives. The breakfast this fall due to COVID-19 restrictions and precautions, but Van Gorkom invites the community to the 2021 event.
