indianola-3

The Indianola boys and girls cross country squads will make the long road trip north to Fort Dodge today, competing in a 24-team meet. The Indians girls are fresh off of a sixth place performance against Wartburg in a competitive meet that included some of the top class 4A teams, and head coach Kim Arndt tells KNIA Sports the Indians have some work to do, but they are aiming to be one of the top teams in the state.

“We have to close some gaps in a couple of places, but if we get some of those young runners to get things figured out who knows where we could be. We have some established runners, you know what Emily (Naughton) and Joey (Werling) are going to give you, and freshman are always fun because they always seem to get it figured out. By the end of the season we could be contending for the middle of that top 15 placements.”

The meet begins at 4:30pm.
