The 7th Annual Knoxville Cancer Relay begins this afternoon. Organizer Katie Truetken explains how the run will work.

“We’re going to kick it off from Ken Locke Stadium at 5:00 p.m. We’ll have two relay runners at minimum going out at the top of each hour. They will run a five-mile loop around town. Community runners can join for one, three or five miles of our loop. The runners will likely be identified by a Knoxville Cancer Relay shirt.”

This is a fundraiser in conjunction with the Coaches vs. Cancer event in January 2021. Drive through donations will also be accepted on the north side of Ken Locke Stadium. Bruce Huckfeldt, an athlete who raises funds for charitable causes will be in attendance to open the race with members of local fire departments. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will be at Ken Locke Stadium playing music and making announcements as the relay begins. More information can be found here.
