The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will head back to Bloomfield for the South Central Conference meet on Tuesday. Both the Panthers’ boys and girls are looking for a little redemption on the Davis County course due to a little confusion with the course map. Coaches Michael and Mikayla Splavec tell KRLS Sports both teams are looking to have a better day on the course and look to cause some problems for Davis County and Albia, who are the respective favorites to win the titles.
Mikayla:
“It’s a huge advantage for us, I know some of the girls were confused and some ran the wrong direction. So having run there and knowing what they’re doing and knowing where the passing spots are is huge for us.”
Michael:
“The map they sent us is very confusing, so just being able to run it and getting a feel for it and knowing how to be able to go about and attack it is big for us.”
Knoxville All-Stater Norah Pearson is looking to win the girls race. She is currently ranked 15th in the Iowa Track Coaches Association individual class 3A rankings. Action will get underway at 4:30 in Bloomfield on Tuesday.
