The Trojans and their fall teams had some ups and downs this week with plenty of action to be seen.

The cross country squads went to Nodaway Valley for a meet and boys star Devin Luing wound up seventh out of 108 runners. He did this despite losing and competing without a shoe for part of the race. On the girls’ side, Hailee McCormick had another uncharacteristic finish, winding up 16th. That’s the second straight meet finishing in the mid-teens.

Pleasantville volleyball had seven matchups. They won the first three before dropping one on Thursday to Woodward-Granger. On Saturday they hosted a quad tourney. Sadly, they were swept in all three matches against PCM, SE Warren, and Earlham. Despite being 3-4 in those games, they did end up with a 10-9 advantage in the sets they played. They currently sit at 9-10 with two games remaining in the regular season.

The football squad will enter the playoffs having lost two straight following a 22-7 defeat to Interstate-35. Turnovers were nothing short of a plague for Pleasantville as two interceptions by QB Caylor Clark, three fumbles, and two failed fourth down conversions caused the team to fall short.

This week, cross country partakes in the West Central Conference meet at Panorama on Thursday. Volleyball will close out the regular season against West Central Valley on Tuesday and ACGC on Thursday. Both games are at home and begin at 7:00. Finally, the football team will host ACGC in the opening round of the playoffs. You can hear the action live on the KNIA3 stream on kniakrls.com.
