Election Day is three weeks away, and absentee voting is taking place in Iowa. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says the deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot is approaching.
“The biggest deadline for absentee through the mail is October 24th. That’s the last day we can actually mail out an absentee ballot. That also happens to be a pre-registration deadline, so it’s kind of a big day, that Saturday at 5:00 p.m. If anybody wants to get a ballot through the mail, they need to get us that signed request by the 24th of October. That is also the pre-registration deadline to get registered before you have to do an EBR, like at the polling site.”
In-person absentee voting at the Marion County Courthouse’s temporary location at East Elementary in Knoxville will continue through the day before Election Day. More information about absentee voting in Marion County can be heard on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
