The final regular season five-set match for the Tulip City volleyball teams have them clashing at Pella High School this evening.
The 17-11 Lady Dutch and 13-11 Eagles will wrap up the Little Hawkeye Conference circuit before Thursday’s conference tournament. Pella is in a three-way tie for 3rd in the league with two teams they beat, Indianola and Norwalk, and a win tonight would give them the No. 2 seed later this week, while the Eagles are already locked into the 6-seed — it’s a matter now of snapping a four game losing streak.
During the Varsity Bound/Quik Stats Era, Pella has dominated the all-time series, with a 15-4 record, having won every matchup between the teams since September 2014. The 2019 series was hyper-competitive, as the two teams played the maximum amount of sets against each other in two tournament meetings and their annual five-set match, but all three went to the green and white.
Varsity action begins for the Eagles and Lady Dutch at 7:15 this evening at Pella High School. The match will be live-streamed on the Pella Dutch Live YouTube channel.
