Iowa High School Cross Country teams know where they will be competing for the chance to race at Fort Dodge in the 2020 state meet.

In Class 4A, the Indianola cross country teams make the long trek west to Council Bluffs Lincoln. The No. 13 Indianola girls and unranked boys will join ranked Johnston (No. 1 girls, No. 7 boys) and Ankeny Centennial teams (No. 4 girls, No. 11 boys), as well as the No. 3 Sioux City, North boys as the other teams to watch in western Iowa.

In Class 3A, Pella is a host school, and Knoxville will once again venture into the Pella city limits for state qualifying as well, but this time, they will join the Dutch teams and others at the Pella Sports Park. The No. 2 Pella boys and team to watch girls, No. 1 Ballard girls, Carlisle (No. 8 boys, No. 12 girls), and Mt. Vernon-Lisbon (No. 9 boys, No. 10 girls) and the ranked schools at the Tulip City site.

Class 3A and 4A teams will participate in the state qualifying meets on Wednesday, October 21st.

In Class 2A, Pella Christian and PCM both head to the Williamsburg site. The Eagles and Mustangs will have to contend with the No. 1 Danville-New London boys and their 15th ranked girls team, as well as the No. 6 host Raiders boys and their 2nd ranked girls team, and No. 1 Mid-Prairie girls and No. 5 Golden Hawk boys teams.

In Class 1A, Pleasantville heads to ACGC in Guthrie County. The host school has the No. 13 boys and No. 7 girls, and No. 12 East Marshall boys, as well as a handful of teams just outside of the Top 15 rankings at that site.

Melcher-Dallas will travel to the Mount Ayr 1A site. The No. 2 ranked Earlham boys and No. 13 girls, No. 8 Nodaway Valley boys, and No. 5 Van Meter girls are also at that site.

Twin Cedars travels to Packwood for the Pekin Class 1A state qualifying site. The hosting Panthers have the No. 2 girls team and No. 5 ranked boys, and the No. 1 Regina girls and No. 14 Valley Lutheran boys are the top schools coming into that meet.

Class 1A and 2A teams will have their state qualifying meets on Thursday, October 22nd. In 2A, three schools per site will advance, while two from each of the eight locations in Class 1A will qualify for the state meet.
