The Twin Cedars Cross Country Squad has always had a goal of making a team run at the state meet this season. The Sabers will run in the class 1A State Qualifier hosted by Pekin on Thursday and sophomore All-State runner Rylee Dunkin tells KRLS Sports having the rest of the team look up to her and try to emulate what she is doing is a big responsibility she takes seriously.
Dunkin:
“That makes me want to get better, and I also like being someone that people look up to and get better. I like the fact they look up to me and push me to be a better runner.”
Dunkin is ranked 14th in the latest class 1A individual rankings according to the Iowa Track Coaches Association. The Sabers will run for a spot at the state meet at a course in Ottumwa, hosted by Pekin.
