The last time that two football teams were both left undefeated heading into the last weekend of American Rivers Conference action, or the Iowa Conference as it was known at the time, was 2007.
Central and Wartburg were both 7-0 in league play and met on November 10th, 2007 at Walston-Hoover Stadium to crown a league champion and an automatic NCAA playoff qualifier. It’s our “KRLS Classic” broadcast this Saturday afternoon, and it lived up to the hype, with the Dutch pulling out a last second victory, 17-14.
Trevor Castle and Jesse Gavin called the action that afternoon in Waverly, and you can hear the broadcast again this Saturday starting at 1:00 on 92.1 KRLS.
