Knoxville Parks and Recreation and the Knoxville Optimist Club purchased new playground equipment for Auld Park. Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers says that it was a 50/50 partnership which will add much needed equipment to the park.
“In partnership with the Optimist Club here in Knoxville, we partnered together to come up with a couple of nice equipment for 5 to 12-year-olds that’ll be placed on the west side of Auld Park. We went in half and half on the cost of the equipment, so that was a nice partnership there. We’re excited, we’re really happy we get to partner with the Optimist Club on that and get those pieces of equipment in.”
The equipment will be installed within the next week in time for the Optimist Club’s Treats in the Trunk.
