Trick-or-treating begins a week from today across Marion and Warren Counties. As parents and children make plans to enjoy the festivities, Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller is recommending that extreme precautions be taken.

“I just want to recommend, first of all, that everybody is aware of others’ personal space. Social distancing, even if you’re outside, is still very important. Some people may not appreciate others encroaching on them because of the pandemic. So just be aware of that six-foot rule. Stick with your family. Everyone should be wearing a mask just as a precaution. Whether they work or they don’t, it’s better than nothing.”

Fuller also suggests that those at home handing out candy sit outside to avoid numerous children ringing doorbells and knocking on doors. More trick-or-treat safety can be heard on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
