The Knoxville Volleyball Squad was unable to solve Red Oak last night in a class 3A regional final and fell in straight sets 25-19, 25-14, and 25-18. Knoxville had trouble adjusting to Red Oak’s front line play and serving that got the Panthers out of system constantly. Coach Mollie Keitges told KRLS Sports they struggled with serve/receive all match long.
Keitges:
“We were struggling to get anything going on our side. We didn’t handle their deep serves and we talked about it leading up to the match, and just didn’t respond well. We just had to give them too many easy balls. That’s a good team with experience in this situation, and now we have experience in this situation going forward.”
Brittany Bacorn had five kills and 11 digs, Maggie Wilkins led with 16 digs, and Marley McKay had 11 assists. Knoxville finishes 27-8 and will lose six seniors from this season’s squad.
