At Monday’s Knoxville School Board meeting, the board approved the purchase of a brand new Chevrolet 2500 regular cab pickup. The truck will be used for snow removal and a variety of other tasks. Business Manager Craig Mobley says that while it came at a slightly higher price, the purchase was made locally.

“The board did make the decision to go ahead and purchase a 2021 Chevy 2500 from Motor Inn of Knoxville. And I will say that Motor Inn’s price was a little higher than our other quote from Karl Chevrolet, but it wasn’t enough to have the board not purchase locally. So we made the decision to purchase locally, and hopefully we’ll be getting it soon.”

This purchase is part of the district’s effort to replace its fleet with newer vehicles. A complete school board recap with Mobley and Superintendent Cassi Pearson can be heard on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
