The great career of Melcher-Dallas Runner J’Lyn Knutson came to an end Saturday at the class 1A girls State Cross Country Meet as the four-time qualifier finished 38th. Through injury and other issues getting in her way this last year, Knutson told KNIA Sports that she was thankful just to running at state and was glad to finish her career on the biggest stage.

Knutson:
“The game plan was to come out and to go hard and do my best. It was just great fun and I was super happy and it was a blessing that I got to be here.”

Knutson’s running career is not quite over at Melcher-Dallas as she will now train for the spring track and field season as a distance runner.
