An inspection of the laboratory at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments program took place recently. For the fifth consecutive year, no deficiencies were found. During the assessment, an extensive review of policies, procedures, and processes was performed to ensure that the laboratory and staff are in compliance with the CLIA requirements. All areas of the laboratory process were examined, including specimen collection, testing, and reporting of results.

CEO Kevin Kincaid said that a perfect score would not be attainable without the hard work and dedication of the lab technicians.

The laboratory participates in this on-site inspection every two years to prove proficiency, quality and competency of the staff, equipment, and internal processes.
