As winter approaches, crews continue to lay fiber along every street in the Pella city limits in hopes of having the Pella Fiber service by next year.

City Administrator Mike Nardini says the goal for the city is to have 75 miles of fiber installed by the time the ground freezes, with internet, TV, and phone services available to residents and businesses by late spring.

While the main lines of fiber are being installed in the city, Nardini says the next phase will be continuing to drop service lines directly to homes and businesses, with local crews handling that work over the next month or so and a more wide-spread installation taking place in the spring.
