Several athletes from the Pella Christian and Pleasantville football teams received Class 1A District 7 postseason honors this fall.
Isaac Kacmarynski was named Class 1A District 7 offensive player of the year. The sophomore entered the state quarterfinals with the 5th most all-purpose yards in Class 1A with 2099 and had 21 offensive touchdowns this season.
First team selections from Pella Christian also include:
Zach DeVries – offensive line (unanimous)
Luke Mulder – defensive line (unanimous)
Cody Boender – linebacker (unanimous)
Drew Geetings – defensive back
Cody Boender currently leads Class 1A with his 102.5 tackles and Luke Mulder has the most tackles for loss with 21. Geetings finished 2020 with two fumble recoveries, a pick-six, and 6 ½ tackles for loss.

Matthew Kauffman – offensive line (unanimous)
Jake DeJoode – defensive line (unanimous)
Isaac Mann – running back
Caylor Clark – utility
Colby Sandholdt – defensive back
Bristol Huyck – punter
DeJoode scored 10 touchdowns this season, 5th best among district players and Caylor Clark’s 17 total touchdowns were 2nd most in 1A District 7. Isaac Mann leads Class 1A with his five fumble recoveries in 2020, and his 755 yards rushing were 3rd among district teams. Sandholdt’s two interception returns for touchdowns are tied for the most defensive scores among 1A players. Huyck’s 36.8 yards per punt ranked best among Class 1A District 7 punters.
Eagles Caden Van Dyke, Devis Rus, Eric Mulder, Jack Fancher, Logan Kelderman, Bennett Spronk, and Aiden Stoltz all received 2nd team All-District honorees. Honorable mentions include Grant Alsum, Kyle Branderhorst, and Justin Horn.
Pella Christian finished 2nd in Class 1A District 7 and the 2020 season with a 6-4 overall record following Friday’s loss in the state playoffs to Van Meter.
Trojans Dale Jolly, Braidy Friday, Ross Stephens, and Ben Wicks all earned 2nd team All-District football honors. Honorable mentions were Cole Sampson, Trevor Daggett, and Cody Garr.
Pleasantville finished 4th in Class 1A District 7, and 5-3 overall with a postseason loss to ACGC on October 16th.
