The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 11 cases within city limits since the October 31st update, with 322 cases affecting the city and an additional 93 cases not within city limits but inside the Indianola Fire District, for a total of 415 cases to affect the city and surrounding fire district since the beginning of the pandemic.

Indianola and the surrounding fire district grew by a total of 90 cases in October, after seeing a growth of 65 in September and 76 in August.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has been affected by 1,442 cases total, a growth of 103 cases since the October 31st update, its largest three-day growth since the beginning of the pandemic. Active cases continue to significantly rise, with 450 active cases, 99 more since the October 31st update. Warren County has seven deaths from the virus.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Warren County is at 11.6%, while Marion County is over the threshold at 16%. There are 46 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
