While the Twin Cedars girls cross country squad did not get their goal of qualifying the entire unit to the state meet this past weekend, everyone will return from this season’s team which makes the Sabers more focused on getting their goals next season. Coach Trent Verwers says it starts with Rylee Dunkin, who earned all-state for the second straight year at the State Meet this past weekend.
Dunkin:
“She’s just a really great teammate and you could ask her and she could not qualify in the top 15 if the team can qualify for State as long as the team get in there. The girls really do look up to her. She does all she can to get those girls ready and hopefully it’ll be enough next year.”
Verwes adds Cheyenne Bruns and Kisha Reed saw improvement during the season and their challenge is to put the mileage in during the offseason.
