A 12th death due to COVID-19 has been reported in Marion County. All fatalities locally have occurred since the beginning of September. As of Tuesday, there were 1,174 positive tests in Marion County since the beginning of the outbreak, with 996 considered recovered by Marion County Public Health in their weekly report on Monday. There are eight residents hospitalized with the virus in Marion County.
A new outbreak has been confirmed at a local long-term care facility, as 12 positive tests of COVID-19 were reported at Accura Healthcare as of Tuesday. This is the 2nd long-term care facility to have an outbreak, as West Ridge Specialty Care dealt with a spike in cases in September, and they are no longer listed on the State of Iowa Coronavirus database.
