The Indianola football season came to a close last Friday evening on the road at Waukee, and will take several years of playoff experience on the offensive side of the ball into next year. The Indians will bring back leading rushers Kael Kolarik and Jaxon Morawski, as well as backup quarterback Brady Blake and one of the top receiving targets in Colton Gordon. Indians head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians graduate a class of 16, but Indianola is establishing themselves among the top programs in the state.
“I let our team know, we are a really good football team. We are a good football team and we belong with the top football teams in Iowa. That will be the message. It comes down to work and preparation and getting yourself ready. We got worn down in the second half of games. We’ve gotta keep kids out, develop our talent, and get in the weight room and get bigger and stronger so we can hold up against big teams.”
The Indians went 4-5 on the season, falling in the round of 16 of the state playoffs.
