The Knoxville Library recently released its 2020 financial report. While closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the library, it was to a lesser extent than expected. Director Roslin Thompson says the library had great turnout to its online events.
“Before we closed in March, we had 245 in-person programs, which is wonderful. We had over 4,000 people take part. After COVID happened and we had to make adjustments, we still had 52 virtual or online programs that people accessed, and more than 4,000 participated in that. So terrific numbers for us.”
The library checked out over 47,000 of its approximately 87,000 titles amidst the closures and reduced hours.
