After the Newton School District opted to move to online-only learning due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, the Pella swimmers with the NCMP Aquagirls temporarily had their season ending meets in jeopardy.

However, quick work by the Pella School District administrative team will allow the newly-formed Pella High Swim Team compete at the state qualifying meet this Saturday at Southeast Polk.

According to Activities Director Matt Fouch, the swim team sharing agreement between Newton and Pella has been severed for the short-term so the Lady Dutch can swim, including Junior Hannah Nedder, who has already qualified for the 2020 state meet in the 100 yard butterfly.

Pella will participate in relays and individual events in an effort to get to the Marshalltown YMCA on Friday, November 13th and Saturday, November 14th.
