Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Salvation Army of Marion County is altering its normal holiday bell ringing procedures. Kitty Shepard with the Salvation Army tells KNIA/KRLS News that rather than having church groups ring bells to encourage donations, several youth organizations will be helping with this year’s efforts.
Additionally, bell ringing will only take place on Fridays and Saturdays beginning after Thanksgiving. They will, however, ring bells Monday through Thursday during the week leading up to Christmas.
Those who do not plan to shop this year can also submit donations via mail to the Salvation Army of Marion County. More information is available on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
