For the last two seasons, the Twin Cedars Girls Cross Country Program has had just one runner at the state meet. The goal this year was to get the whole team, and while the Sabers fell short of that goal, Coach Trent Verwers says it is still a realistic goal as long as they work over the offseason and stay focused on the task.

Verwers:
“They’re going to have to be doing a little more than their sports this year. If they’re going to be good at cross country they’re going to have to run on their own even in the winter, and track and field for a lot of them is the next running sports they’ll do.”

Rylee Dunkin has qualified for State the last two seasons and came back with an All-State medal both years…finishing tenth at last week’s state meet.
