The Twin Cedars Girls Cross Country Squad ran a full ten meet regular season schedule this year. That was accomplished even with a two week shut down at the start of the season. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports the girls used several of the meets as practice to keep focused on the season and not get bored with running at the same place each day.
Verwers:
“A lot of teams don’t use the 10 meet schedule, but we used that as practice. We’re going to run 3 miles or more in practice. It gives them a chance to to run at different places, than our school, when we run inside, so it gives them different scenery.”
No seniors were on the squad this season and Rylee Dunkin earned her second straight All-State medal at last week’s State Meet.
