The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 35 cases within city limits and 13 additional cases not within city limits but within the Indianola Fire District for a total of 357 cases in the city and 106 in the fire district to affect the city since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has been affected by 1,563 cases of COVID-19, a growth of 121 cases since the November 2nd update, breaking another 4-day growth total since the beginning of the pandemic. Active cases have significantly risen as well, with 528 current cases, up 79 from the November 2nd update. Warren County has two additional deaths from the virus, bringing the total to nine.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Friday, Warren County is at 12.8%, while Marion County is over the threshold at 20.1%. There are 76 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
