With six seniors departing the Knoxville Volleyball Program, the Panthers will have a very different look in 2021. That said, Coach Mollie Keitges thinks there are pieces to the puzzle that can fit and field a more than competitive unit in the fall of 2021. She tells KRLS Sports it all starts with Sophomore-to-be Brittany Bacorn. Bacorn led the Panthers in hitting this season as a freshman with 250 kills, had 17 blocks, but was also a good all-around player with 303 digs, which was second on the team, and had 33 ace serves. Keitges adds Bacorn could be kept at outside hitter or she could be moved to setter.
Keitges:
“I just have a big decision, do I keep her on the outside and let her be a hitter or do I move her to setter and let her run the show, because she’s a real good setter. We have a lot of decisions to make in the next few months, but I think we have a few really good pieces.”
The Panthers ended the season 27-8, won the South Central Conference for the fourth straight season and got to the class 3A Regional final.
