A second long-term care outbreak of COVID-19 is now ongoing in Marion County. According to the State of Iowa Coronavirus database, six positive cases are now confirmed at The Cottages in Pella. The other active long term care outbreak continues at Accura Health in Knoxville, with 17 positive tests.

Marion County Public Health has released its weekly update as it relates to COVID-19. Through contact tracing, 1,377 cases have been confirmed locally since the beginning of the outbreak. There are 1,192 individuals considered recovered by local officials, with 185 active cases. A 13th death was reported to the State of Iowa Coronavirus database over the weekend. The two-week average positive test rate is at 23 percent and there are 14 Marion County residents hospitalized with the virus.
