For college students throughout the nation, this year was not the year they envisioned, with virtual learning, restrictions on interacting with each other, and missing out on many of the normal college experiences, especially for the incoming freshman class. Simpson Head Men’s Basketball Brad Bjorkgren tells KNIA News for athletes in a team environment, the lack of team building can be a big setback.
“With all the precautions they have to go through in school, it is double that for the team aspect. They are not eating together, not interacting and doing all these fun things that a college student would normally do. We are trying to do the best we can with that, but it’s still not good enough. Schools try to develop a culture and a family aspect, but that’s really hard to do when it’s broken down into a pod or classroom.”
For more information, Bjorkgren will be featured on tonight’s Simpson College Radio Coaches Corner on KNIA at 7pm.
