At Monday’s Knoxville School Board meeting, design plans for the new middle school building were presented and approved. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says that a collaborative effort by all involved will give the district a building that the community can be proud of.

“One of the things we’ve been so impressed with is that we have over 25 professionals that have been working together on this plan. And they collaboratively are giving us the best building for 21st century learning for our kids at the best prices we could possibly anticipate because of how they’re designing the building. One of the things we’ve talked a lot about is that our buildings get used for 70 years, so how do we future-proof the design so that it’ll be flexible enough to get us into the future and do a great job of educating kids, and also have use for community events.”

Groundbreaking is expected to begin in spring 2021. Click here for a recap of the board meeting.
