The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad took a small bit of momentum into the offseason with two wins in its final two games. The Saints ended the season with a 46-0 win over rival Twin Cedars after opting out of the eight-man playoffs. Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA Sports the way to improve the program is for kids to play football. He says there are several kids he knows in the school that were not out this season that should have been.

Ferguson:
“We lose our skill package and our line comes back, plus you never know who’s going to come out. I’ve got athletes sitting at home that are talking about coming out so if there are any parents listening tell your kids to come out for sports because we need every male athlete we can get.”

Ferguson hopes that his players will stay active in the offseason with basketball or other activities. Melcher-Dallas finished the season with a 3-5 record.
