The Pella Opera House has expanded its hours this year for the annual Festival of Trees.
Director Cyndi Atkins with the Pella Opera House says the festival will be open until Saturday, December 5th at noon. Participants can shop for Christmas and winter decorations at the Boutique on the Balcony, visit the Children’s Winter Wonderland in the Historic Theatre, and take a guided path through the Great Hall for the display of trees, wreaths and tablescapes. Many items will be offered through an online silent auction at pellaoperahouse.org.
In addition, every Saturday this month at 10 am, they will host a free, short and socially distanced program for children and adults in the Historic Theatre. Face coverings are required for all winter activities at the Pella Opera House, which is open Monday-Wednesday and Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm; Thursday, 10 am – 6 pm; Friday, 10 am – 5 pm during the Festival of Trees.
Masks are required this year, according to Atkins, and there are floor marks for social distancing.
“We are limiting the number of individuals in the Opera House at any one time. We also extended the length of the Festival to make more days and times available to visit. But if you are not comfortable visiting in person, we have a website available for you to view and bid on items in the Festival of Trees.”
