In a football season unlike any other, Pleasantville managed to get through the abridged campaign unscathed. A lot had to be done as a district and the Trojans were very far ahead of the curve when it came to safety.
The same can be said about the other sports, but there are far more players on the gridiron as well as being in closer proximity to one another. Pleasantville’s mask policies and forward thinking has helped everyone remain in good health throughout the Fall.
Head Coach Mack Jorth details what his group had to do in order to keep everyone safe.
“I think our school district and our athletic department, everyone did a great job being proactive and smart and plan for mitigating the risk as much as we could. We wear a mask all the time inside, we spread out during meetings. We assigned people to be the temperature takers, the sanitizers both of hands and equipment. Coaches did a really nice job wearing their masks. They weren’t in any close proximity and tried to group kids in a smart, very consistent way.”
Pleasantville finished the 2020 season at 5-3 overall, finishing the adjusted schedule with a tough loss against ACGC to end in the postseason.
