The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 34 cases within city limits and nine additional cases not within city limits but inside the Indianola fire district since the November 11th update, for a total of 443 within the city and 124 inside the fire district, for a total of 567 cases to affect the area since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has crossed the 2,000 case mark, with 2,036 cases of the virus affecting the area, a growth of 187 cases since the November 11th update. Active cases have grown by 158 since November 11th, crossing the 900 case mark for a total of 907. Warren County has nine deaths from the virus.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Wednesday, Warren County is over the threshold at 18.4%, while Marion County is over at 25%. There are 94 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
