With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, Helping Hands Knoxville is asking for community members to donate turkeys to distribute to those in need. Chuck Galeazzi with Helping Hands says that COVID-19 has hindered the organization’s efforts this year, and is asking for people to donate in any way they can.
“With this virus going around, here I am without any turkeys. We’ve been saving stuff for baskets, anticipating this may happen, so we’re really in need. I ordered turkeys Thursday, and I’m looking for funds. If people have an extra turkey or something, we’ll take that next week, they can bring it into the alley at Helping Hands.”
Helping Hands is seeking both food and monetary donations.
