A 16th death due to COVID-19 was confirmed in Marion County due to COVID-19 at the State of Iowa Coronavirus Database Saturday.
Three residents have died with the virus over the past week, with 258 new positive cases reported locally over the past seven days. As of Saturday night, 1,597 positive tests have been reported in the county since the beginning of the outbreak, and as of last Monday, Marion County Public Health considered 1,192 recovered.
There are a record 19 Marion County residents currently hospitalized with COVID-19, as of this past weekend. Two long-term care outbreaks continue at Accura Healthcare of Knoxville (up to 18 positive cases and one recovery) and The Cottages in Pella (up to nine positive cases and one recovery).
