Whenever you get to be around someone so much, you get attached. For a coach and their players, there is a bond akin to family. Pleasantville Head Coach Mack Jorth will have a whopping 16 players to replace after the 2020 season. Those players comprised around 35% of their roster.
The bond Jorth made with these players is sacred, but business-wise, it’s a bit of a dilemma. Jorth knows this is a tall order, especially for a Class 1A school.
“When you graduate 16 in a program of our size, you definitely have some massive shoes to fill. When you look in detail at the guys who are leaving, it becomes even more of a formidable task.”
Among the players he has to replace are three year starter at quarterback Caylor Clark.
There’s also leading rusher Isaac Mann as well as top receiver and defensive back Colby Sandholdt. There are also four starters along the offensive line. There are still nine more who made contributions as well.
