A 16th death due to COVID-19 was confirmed in Marion County at the State of Iowa Coronavirus Database Saturday.
Three residents have died with the virus over the past week, with 269 new positive cases reported locally over the past seven days. As of Sunday night, 1,646 positive tests were reported in the county since the beginning of the outbreak, and as of last week, Marion County Public Health considered 1,192 recovered.
There were a record 19 Marion County residents hospitalized with COVID-19 over the weekend. Two long-term care outbreaks continue at Accura Healthcare of Knoxville (up to 18 positive cases and one recovery) and The Cottages in Pella (up to nine positive cases and one recovery).
