pleasantville-3

Fans love to see the big passing plays, but running the ball helps you win. It gets yards, kills some clock, and wears down the defense. Pleasantville, like many small schools, utilizes the rushing game more than the right arm of a quarterback. Around three times more to be exact.

It all starts with their leading rusher Isaac Mann. In his 2020 Senior year, he totaled 105 carries for 755 yards, 7.2 yards per carry, and five touchdowns, the longest of which went for 51 yards. He accomplished this despite missing the regular season finale and being limited in the Trojans’ opening playoff game to ACGC, which likely factored into Pleasantville’s defeat after having their best regular season in years.

Head Coach Mack Jorth was very happy to have this guy being the focal point of his offense, as well as being a solid linebacker on defense.

“Isaac Mann took his game to the next level this year. He’s a playmaker and a running back who is just explosive as heck. When he wasn’t around we really missed him. I just thought he did a great job running to the football as a linebacker and toting the rock as a tailback.”

Mann’s efforts earned him First Team All-District Honors.
