The latest update of COVID-19 cases in Indianola shows a growth of 33 cases within city limits and nine additional cases not within city limits but inside the Indianola fire district since the November 13th update, for a total of 476 within the city and 133 inside the fire district, crossing the 600 case mark for a total of 609 cases to affect the area since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has 2,167 cases of the virus affecting the area, a growth of 131 cases since the November 13th update. There are now more than 1,000 active cases in Warren County, with 1,020 currently affecting the area. Warren County has nine deaths from the virus.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that is a factor in indicating schools should move to remote learning. As of Wednesday, Warren County is over the threshold at 18.3%, while Marion County is over at 25.8%. There are 94 counties in Iowa currently over the threshold.
